Trivia

William Ware Theiss designed the silver lamé environmental suits featured in this episode. They featured a fabric helmet with screen mesh visor that made it easier to shoot the actor’s faces while allowing them to breathe. Unfortunately, they did not include a zipper and the suits had to be removed in their entirety if Nimoy, Kelley or Shatner wanted to go to the restroom. Source: classictrek
